On Friday the 14th of August the Leopold Primary School athletics team made up of the the grade 3,4,5 and 6 students went to Landy Field for athletics. They competed against students from schools such as Bellaire,Torquay and Mandama. I was in was triple jump and discus.
It was a pretty good day for athletics and erveryone did really well.
The last events of the day were the relays. Leopold absolutely SMASHED the other teams. We won 5 out of 6 relays. Polders ended up beating the other teams easily…..no surprise.
During the last five weeks of Buddies we have been planning a Narrative. We first thought of a topic to write the story about and then started writing the story. We typed up the story and then drew some Pictures of the story line. We then eventually put the story together and had a reading session. Then the Buddies took the book home.

The Space D.A.T day was a really fun day. We got to look at all the other things people had made and I saw some really interesting things. There were diaramas, posters, and lots of other things. The whole term we were learning about it was really fun too. I learnt quite a bit and enjoyed it. It was a great theme.

Week 2 of the Human Body and now it’s the Muscular System. For one of my slides I wrote this..
Involuntary muscles are muscles that you don’t choose to use, they happen automatically. One of the involuntary muscles is the Diaphragm, the muscle that helps the lungs to accommodate the space for the air. Involuntary muscles are usually controlled by nerve banks in the spinal cord, and have no direct involvement with the brain.
For the first week of our Human Body D.A.T, 6AH was focusing on the nervous system.
For our weekly D.A.T I made this PhotoStory on the nervous system. I enjoyed it lots and learnt that there is heaps more than one part to the nervous system.
The Friday House Sports Competition is where the 4 houses (Dennis, Gordon, Lawson & Patterson) play a certain sport for an hour.
Anyways, the 4 houses compete in a range of different sports. There was sports like Number Soccer, Bombardment, RapidFire & Bootball Baseball.
It was Dennis vs. Gordon & Patterson vs. Lawson
The Dennis & Gordon boys were playing Number Soccer. The Patterson & Lawson boys were playing Bootball Baseball. The Dennis & Gordon girls were playing Bombardment & The Patterson & Lawson girls played Rapid Fire.
The Friday House Sports Competition is a lot of fun. It is fun taking part & giving it your best shot
Walk to the diggings was one of my favourite D.A.Ts. It was my favourite because it was fun to get dressed up in character and see what everyone looked like. My group was selected to dress as poor people and I think we had fun with it.
We did tabloid sports and inside activities. Some of my most enjoyed were ring toss, egg and spoon race and boot throwing. For my inside activity I did peg dolls.
Over all it was a great day and everyone enjoyed it.

“Walk to the Diggings was a fantastic day as everyone got into character” Mr Heenan
Sovereign Hill was a great excursion for me, as I’ve never been there before. The only downside was the muddy, wet ground, and the chill at night.
We started off with a little stroll around and some snack. Panning for gold was another highlight of the trip, as I found one little speck. The shops around were amazing, nearly the same as back in the Gold Rush.
There was a small lolly shop with a traditional feeling to it. They were hard boiled lollies, and had different flavours. There was also a place called The Education Centre, where we got to learn about what life was like back then, what they wore, and what the kids would do.
At night the ‘Blood On The Southern Cross’ was a great display on the Eureka Stockade, and everything else that happened during the Gold Rush.
I had a fantastic day, and enjoyed every minute of it.
